The Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu is pleased to announce that it is officially joining the Spirou project, a collaboration that brings together two institutions deeply rooted in their territory and driven by shared values: tradition, conviviality and a strong sense of togetherness.

A must-visit place to come together

Over the years, the Dôme has established itself as a key venue in Walloon life, far beyond basketball alone: sporting events, concerts, trade fairs, cultural and corporate gatherings… The Dôme is a true place of connection, where powerful emotions are shared — and where, in line with our brewery’s philosophy, a beer is never enjoyed alone.

A temple of specialty beer

With its wide-ranging audience, private boxes, premium areas and the Le Mordu restaurant, the Dôme offers the ideal setting to showcase specialty beers. This partnership is part of the continuity of a venue that has always celebrated beers with character. Val-Dieu Blonde will be available on draft throughout the entire Dôme, while our Val-Dieu Triple, Hop, Christmas and Blonde beers will be served on draft in the VIP area, poured into our instantly recognisable “galopins”.

A brewery expanding in Wallonia

Our brewery is committed to continuing its development and increasing its visibility in Wallonia, as well as internationally. This partnership represents an important milestone in that expansion, strengthening our presence throughout Wallonia and across Belgium as a whole.

An alliance of traditions

This collaboration creates a symbolic bridge between two great brewing and sporting traditions. On one side stands the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu, one of the last abbey beers still brewed within a real abbey. On the other, Spirou: a legend of Belgian basketball, a historic and decorated club, widely recognised as a cornerstone of player development in Belgium.

This collaboration also embodies a truly Walloon project, bringing together an iconic Liège-based brewery and a flagship club from the province of Hainaut around a shared ambition.

A high-level project that is also inclusive and family-oriented

Spirou is far more than just its professional team. It is a comprehensive, human and social project built on:

an academy of 650 young players,
the Laurenty Academy, recognised as one of the best in Belgium,
a women’s section with five teams, including a Division 1 team,
Spirou Baskin and Spirou Handi, opening the club to disability sports, with a team of 12 wheelchair-affiliated players and an inclusive team.

All of these initiatives strongly align with the values of the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu.

A unique logo to seal this union

To celebrate this partnership, an exclusive visual identity has been created: a hybrid logo combining the iconic elements of Spirou and the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu, symbolising a shared project and a promising future. This logo will now become the club’s official emblem and will be proudly worn by all of our players.
