Two new cuvées for the Excellence range from the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu

A jewel named Excellence

As it does every year at this time, the Brasserie de l’Abbaye du Val-Dieu is adding two new exceptional cuvées to its Excellence range. This edition features Calvados barrels from Maison Père Magloire and Côte-Rôtie barrels, chosen to enhance the richness and complexity of our Val-Dieu Triple.

Excellence du Val-Dieu : a unique blend of two completely different worlds

The concept behind our barrel-aged beers is based on a bold and unexpected marriage between two worlds that are polar opposites. First, there is a beer brewed traditionally in the heart of the Abbey, in accordance with monastic tradition.

Then, it is aged in genuine barrels that have contained exceptional spirits and wines from all over the world, for a year in the Abbey’s cellars. A true brewing expertise that bears the traces of a heritage that transcends borders.

This unique ageing process gives each edition a distinctive character. The noble aromas of the barrel subtly infuse the beer, giving it depth and complexity: woody, vanilla, spicy or fruity notes depending on the origin of the barrel. A constantly evolving aromatic palette that transforms each sip into a unique sensory experience.

Each vintage in the Excellence range is available in a limited, numbered edition, like a liquid work of art.

It embodies the meeting of brewing heritage, the patience of time and the modernity of innovation. More than just a beer, it is an experience.

Excellence beers are available in specialist drinks shops and wine merchants, Delhaize and Intermarché, or directly from the Abbey shop, open every day from 10am to 6pm, including public holidays.
